Jakhalabandha: Enriching Culture
In the heart of Kaliabor in central Assam lies a small town Jakhlabandha. This place is famous for two things, its 24x7 connectivity and for the door less hotels. Jakhalabandha never sleeps, even at the midnight hours you will feel like you are somewhere in a foreign location because of the choice of the music that is played during night hours. Situated in the southern bank of river Brahmaputra and near the Kollong River the place is surrounded and based on the foothills of Karbi Hills and Burapahar. Jakhalabandha is the business center of Kaliabor. Even the place is basically a commercial hub, people across the town are highly religious and cultural. I have observed that people of various caste, language, religions resides together since ages and respect each other’s culture a lot and take part in the festivals together.
