Popular spots in Jakhalabandha that can’t be ignored by youths.

Image
After writing a series of blogs on my home town, in this blog I would love to specify some youth centric spots that keep the hustle and bustle of the town going. The energetic youths and growing up boys and girls love to spend their time in some of the unavoidable spots in the town. Check them out: 1.        Munna’s Momo : Munna Chetry, widely known as Munna bhai runs his small movable momo shop in the town. He is the owner and operator of the shop and he has been selling the delicious momo for more than a period of 7 years. He generally operates at 6pm in the evening and wraps up his business by 8pm. People of all ages unite here and Munna serves his home self made stuffs to the local and movable public around Kaliabor. He operates near the ASTC bus stand of Jakhalabandha and as a result this place has turned out to be a get together spot for the local public.   2.        Maharaja ka Chai & Singara: Maharaja Hotel, one of the most popular and oldest hotel in the tow

Jakhalabandha: Enriching Culture

In the heart of Kaliabor in central Assam lies a small town Jakhlabandha. This place is famous for two things, its 24x7 connectivity and for the door less hotels. Jakhalabandha never sleeps, even at the midnight hours you will feel like you are somewhere in a foreign location because of the choice of the music that is played during night hours. Situated in the southern bank of river Brahmaputra and near the Kollong River the place is surrounded and based on the foothills of Karbi Hills and Burapahar. Jakhalabandha is the business center of Kaliabor. Even the place is basically a commercial hub, people across the town are highly religious and cultural. I have observed that people of various caste, language, religions resides together since ages and respect each other’s culture a lot and take part in the festivals together. The Assamese during Bihu, Bengali’s during Astoprohor (Hare Krisna Kirtan), the Hindi Bhashi’s during Ganesh Chaturathi and Chat Puja and the Muslism’s during E

All-rounder: An Expectation

Image
Who is an all-rounder?  The one who contributes in all the departments of the game? Yes, majority will agree with the fact that the one who can ball, bat and contribute in the field is an all rounder, but did anyone ever think of the pressure that an all-rounder carries in his shoulder? If I talk about the history of all-rounder in the gentlemen’s game a few names that will come into my mind are Jacques Kallis, Kapil Dev,Imraan Khan, Andrew Flintoff, Steve Waugh, Lance Klusner, Shane Watson etc. They had the ability to change the game at their own will no matter whether with the bat or with the ball. In present days  Sakib, Faulkner, Ben Stokes, Dwayne Bravo etc are those whom a team can bank at any given time. India too had a list of good all-rounder, Saurav Ganguly, Robin Singh, Manoj Prabhakar will always be remembered for their all round abilities but what is the reason that India could not sustain an all rounder for a longer period of time? Is over experimentation a

Rising Popularity of Third Party App Stores

Smartphone today is an inseparable part of our life, today we cannot even imagine a day without our phone, internet and apps plays the most important part in that. What is a smart phone without app being installed?  It is like a temple without devotee. App acts as a savior in our day to day life, starting from getting breaking news and other relevant information’s till checking out train and airport schedule, connecting our friends online till ending up playing games, we all depend on some or the other mobile app. In India the most popular app is WhatsApp, followed by Facebook and UC News, when it comes to game how anyone can avoid Clash of Clans, Subway Surfers, Pokémon Go and Candy Crush . Third Party app store plays a vital role in this as well, a third-party app store is an app market not owned or controlled by the owner of the operating system it is a place where you can download apps, games, music and a host of other virtual goods, but it's not owned by Google,

Chaos, Coach and Cricket

Image
They call cricket a gentlemen’s game, ever since I started watching cricket I was forced to believe so, I have observed gentlemen from many countries and was shocked to see how they defined the term. Born and brought up in England, this game is now played in over 20 countries and out of them 12 countries is honored with the status of playing Test cricket which happens to be the most prestigious format of the game. It is said that 11 players a side is mandatory to play the game but recently my observation says that not only 11 players but also the support staff and coaches are as valuable as the players are, it is not a new concept though, we all are aware of the fact that every team has their own set of support staff in every department like batting , bowling, fielding and also a special team is dedicated to look after the players fitness, but never in my imagination I could think that those departments will be manipulated by a set of lobbyist or in a cruel sense I can call them

Ransomware : Things to know about.

Ransomware   is a type of   malicious software   that carries out the cryptoviral extortion attack from   cryptovirology   that blocks access to data until a   ransom   is paid and   displays a message   requesting payment to unlock it. Simple ransomware may lock the system in a way which is not difficult for a knowledgeable person to reverse. ·           More advanced malware   encrypts   the victim's files, making them inaccessible, and demands a ransom payment to decrypt them. ·           They can target any PC users, whether it’s a home computer, endpoints in an enterprise network, or servers used by a government agency or healthcare provider. Ransomware can: ·           Prevent you from accessing Windows. ·           Encrypt files so you can't use them. ·           Stop certain apps from running (like your web browser). How do ransomware threats spread? ·           Spam email campaigns  that contain malicious links. ·           Security exploits in  v

Where are the people of Ayodhya in between the Mandir-Majid clashes ?

Babri Majid was demolished in the year 1992 after a long political cold war in the country. It is said that Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya  in 5114 BC but there is no such proof of the particular date . It is the people’s belief and the faith of the devotees for which the place is one of the  most sacred places in India. Mughal leader Babur built a mosque in the year 1528–29 in Ayodhya  which was known as Babri Masjid , it is said that the masjid was constructed where lord Ram was born and Babur destroyed that particular place to built the Masjid but there is no such evidence of the fact that Lord Ram was born there itself. It is also said this was a fake propaganda by the Britishers  to create communal tension between the Hindus and the Muslims in India. As per a local survey and few documentaries being made on the same incident,  I could figure out that the local people of Ayodhya are against it as they do not want any communal riots in the place and they want a peaceful solution

Birth of Captain Cool : MS Dhoni

Image
Dhoni made his international debut on 23 December 2004 vs Bangladesh, in just 42 innings he became the number one ODI batsman in ICC ranking which is fastest till date. Dhoni as a batsman was known to all till 2007 T20 world cup but no one could ever think that this boy from  # Ranchi  can do wonders as a captain.  He was appointed as a captain where no senior player took part and he had to lead a bunch of young guys in the first ever T20 world cup. Remember India just played one T20 match before going to South Africa. India could not even qualify the group stage in the 50 over format in the same year and that added more pressure for the players, but talents and dedication took the young Indian to the final against their age old rival  # Pakistan  and everyone will remember the last over gamble by Dhoni opting for Jogindar Sharma and not going for  Harbhajan Singh , India won the world cup by 5 runs . That was the day when Indian cricket got a Captain who took India to much higher

Achieving the Impossible : Sachin Tendulkar

Image
24 th of Feb 2010 at   Gwalior  vs South Africa , India was taking on against the best bowling attack of the world , who might have thought that a new world record was about to be created in Gwalior. If you remember only two players before that day scored 194 runs in ODI cricket one was Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar  in 1997 and other was Zimbabwe’s Charles Conventry in 2009. But the little master had some other plans that day, he played his normal game and kept on playing till he passed his previous best of 186.Then suddenly people started expecting that will the master blaster do what no other player could achieve in ODI and certainly Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar ended his innings by scoring first ever double century in ODI history.   Four batsmen have gone past 200 in ODIs after Sachin. Virender Sehwag, Martin Guptill, Rohit Sharma (twice), and Chris Gayle but one will never forget the first ever 200 in ODI.  Maybe this was the ODI where other players started believing that 2

Amit Rana : Spin Magician in Making

Image
Cricket these days has reached in such a place where the level of competition has no definition. A player needs to do every possible thing in the field to make himself unique from the other. Meet Amit Rana a small town young lad from Rothak Haryana, he is a right arm off spinner and middle order batsman of the Haryana cricket team. His performance in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy was eye catching, not only economical but this bowler is also known for his wicket taking ability in any surface. He is a big fan of the little master Sachin Tendulkar and wants to contribute for his nation by playing the gentlemen’s game.  His dream is to make his debut against Pakistan. In last 10 to 15 years these small town boys came and represented the nation, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina Ravindra Jadeja are a living example, How far will Amit Rana the young promising talent go? Are you ready to see another young off spin magician in the future?

When the young guns gave Dada a chance to wave off his shirts in Lords

Image
13th July 2002 Lords, That day was the birth of a young team India. India chasing a mammoth total of 325 vs England in the  # NatWest  Final.   Not many team chased over 300 in those days. India started well but soon they were no where when they lost 5 wicket and was left out with last recognized batting pair Kaif-Yuvraj. They put on 121 runs for the sixth wicket, which gave Saurav Ganguly the then Indian captain a chance to wave off his shirt in the air form the lords balcony creating an iconic moment in Indian History.   I believe from that particular day India felt that they can even win matches away from home and even the young guns can come and spoil the party for the opposition. That match according to me was the birth of an new team India.

Test match worth Remembering forever

Image
Mar 11-15, 2001,  # Kolkata  : If I am taking you back to 2001 I have got a valid reason to do so. In one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of cricket, VVS Laxman (281) and Rahul Dravid (180) batted for one whole day to not only save the test match, but also build a huge lead over Australia. India were following on by 274.They ended up setting a target of 384.  That wasn't enough to demolish the Aussies, the birth of a spin wizard to ok place that day,Harbhajan Singh took 6 wicket in second innings, Harbhajan became the first ever Indian to take a test hat trick, India won the match by 171 runs and became the second team to win a test match after following on. India had chased and snatched the victory from mouth of the mighty Kangaroos, hence breaking their record of 16 consecutive test wins. This possibly is the greatest Test ever played.

When Nawab became the Sultan of Multan

Image
30th March 2004, who can forget the day when  # India  was taking on  # Pakistan  in Multan in one of the three test matches. Viru showed the world what damage he can do with his style of cricket in the longer format. He became the first Indian to score a triple ton in cricket history when he blasted a 309 against the most destructive bowling attack of the world in those days.  The Nawab of Najafgarh demolished the  # Pakistani  bowling attack and helped India to post a mammoth total of 675/5. Not many people in those days used to take test match in an attacking approach but  Virender Sehwag  had some other things in his mind and he changed the stereotypical approach of batting in a test match. That was a day when people realized that something new was coming to save the glory of  # TestCricket  and hence the Nawab became the undisputed Sultan of Multan.

Should MS Dhoni play till 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup ?

Image
What Mahi achieved till now is known to all by now, he doesn’t even need any introduction either. As a Captain, Batsman, Wicket keeper and a finishers he will always remain in the top of the list in the book of Indian Cricketing History. But there are still something which he is yet to achieve in cricket and for that he need to continue playing till 2019 world cup in England. Reason why Dhoni should play till the next world cup · He is yet to score a overseas century, moreover he is the only Indian captain who didn’t score century in any world cup matches · He is by far India’s best wicket-keeping batsmen for the next couple of years. Moreover, as a ‘keeper, with years and years of experience behind him, he will be in the best position to guide bowlers and advice the skipper on key issues during a match. · He is still one of the most dangerous limited over batsmen in the world. Team India needs a him in the middle order with the ability to rotate the strike, run sha

Is people calling Virat as Sachin ahead of time ?

Image
Run machine Virat Kohli is being generally compared with Little master Sachin Tendulkar by many big cricket pundits. It’s true that the approach Virat uses while batting is unique and he doesn’t give his opposition any chance to settle down , on the other hand sachin played his innings depending on the situation and he has also got enough supports from his partners. It is difficult to compare men of two different eras even if their eras somewhat overlap. No statistical exercise can prove that one player is better than the other. Conditions vary with place and differ more so with time.   Sachin belongs to an era where he faced some deadly fast bowler like Wasim,Waqar,Imraan , Akthar, McGrath, Lee, Donald, Ambrose and also the spin legends like Warne, Murli, Saqlain , it wasn’t realy easy to score runs against them and in those days the approach of batting was bit defensive ,on the other hand Virat has never faced such bowling legends and also the style of playing cricket has chang
