Best time to visit Deoghar
Deoghar has a pleasant climate most of the months in
year.
- Summers (March to
June) are warm with the maximum temperature of about 37°C and minimum of
about 23°C. can go beyond 42 °C, and tourists typically avoid visiting
this place during the peak summer days in May.
- Monsoons (July to
September) are accompanied by mild to average rainfalls and offers humid
and warm climate.
- Winters (November
to February) are characterized by cool breeze and cool weather. During
winters minimum temperature can go about 7°C and maximum is only about
27°C. Most of the tourists prefer this period.
Best
time
to visit Deoghar is from October to April.
- October to
February is ideal for sight seeing, temple visits and city activities.
- March and
April is good for all kinds of outdoor activities.
- July to
September are pleasant with cool and humid atmosphere. Keep rain clothes
and umbrella during the visit in this period.
But as said by the local people the door of god is
always open for its disciple so people keep on visiting throughout the year
without keeping any other restrictions in mind.
Few places to visit in Deoghar
Trikut Pahar
Trikut Pahar is
one of the most exhilarating tourist destination in Deoghar, where you can
enjoy Trekking, Ropeway, Wildlife Adventures and a safe natural
retreat. It is also a popular picnic spot and a place for Pilgrimage.In dense
forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple and the hermitage of Sage Dayananda.
Trikut Hills
contain three peaks and the Highest Peak goes to the height of 2470 ft from the
Sea Level and around about 1500 ft from the ground making it an ideal location
for trekking.Only two of the three peaks are considered safe for trekking while
the third one is inaccessible due to its highly steep slopes.
The Ropeway
takes the Tourists to the top of main peak only. The Charges are Rs 50 per
person and it takes 10 minutes for a single Rope-Car to reach the cliff. An
exciting 360 degree view of Deoghar is available from the Top of Trikut Pahar.
And the most adventure stuff out in that place is the 14inch wide Nabagrah stone
which adds more thrilling to the trip
Tapovan
Tapovan Hills are located 10km from the Deoghar Town. It is mainly famous for Tapo Nath Mahadev, the temple of Lord Shiva. It is named Tapovan because in the olden days it was a meditation spot (Tapobhumi) for the Nagas.
It is said that Sage Valmiki came here for self-punishment. Sri Sri Balananda Brahmachari obtained Siddhi (success through penance) here. Sri Sri Mohanananda Brahmachari, disciple of Sri Sri Balananda Brahmachari also used to come here.There is a cracked rock at Tapovan. In the inner surface of the crack, one can see a portrait of Hanuman. This is an amazing feat as it is practically impossible to insert a paint brush in the crack and draw anything.
Below the hill there is a small cemented Kund (water – body) which is called Sukta Kunda (Sita Kunda) by the local people. It is a holy water body. It is said that Sita used to take bath here.
Baidyanath Temple
Baidyanath temple, also known as Baba dham and Baidyanath
dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath,
where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples
According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site
of the temple to get the boons that he later used to cause destruction in the
world. Ravana offered his ten heads one after the another to Shiva as a
sacrifice. Pleased with this, Shiva descended to cure Ravana who was injured.
As he acted as a doctor, he is referred to as Vaidhya ("doctor"). From this aspect
of Shiva, the temple derives its name.
Nandan Pahar
Nandan Pahar is one the major Hill Entertainment
Park in Deoghar with paddle boating facilties. It is also famous for a big
Nandi Temple. It is a medium sized beautiful Hill Park and one of the major
hangout places in Deoghar. This place also supplies Drinking Water to a large
section of Deoghar Population. It also has a ghost house, a mirror house and a
restaurant. Tourists can also see beautiful views of the district, sunrise and
sunset from this site. The Park is maintained by JSTDC and is known as Nandan
Hill Entertainment Park.According to beliefs, once King Ravana tried to enter Shivadham forcibly. Nandi was the door keeper at that time. Nandi obstructed him. Ravana became angry and threw him who fell here and in this way this hill became to known by this name.
Naulakha Mandir
Naulakha is one of the major attractions of Deoghar
located 2 km from the main town. The Architecture of the temple resembles to
that of Ramakrishna Math Belur Kolkata. The temple has beautiful idols of Radha
and Krishna ranging about 146 ft in height.The Temple has an unusual history to tell. It was constructed by a donation of Rs 9 Lakhs (hence the name of Naulakha) by Queen Charushila of Pathuria Ghat King’s family from Kolkata. It is said that the queen left her home, grieved by the untimely deaths of her husband Akshay Ghosh and son Jatindra Ghosh. At Tapovan she met holy Saint Balananda Brahmachari who advised her to construct this temple.
Balanand Ashram
Just near the naulakha temple is the ashram of swami balanand, it’s a very beautiful places and temple there is worth watching. People generally miss this place because of the limited and fixed entrance timing, but it is always better the know the time in advance before you plan to visit there.
Satsang Ashram :
The Ashram founded by Shri Shri Thakur Anukul Chandra is based out near the Satsang Chok ,The area is very big inside the ashram ,and it is a place where you will experience huge gathering during festive sesson.

There is no explanation why and how this place is beautiful wherever I travel, a bird eye view from the entrance will give you a enchanting feeling and devotion within you will start growing up.
