IPL : Developing National Integrity Since 2008
The Indian Premier League started
in the year 2008, none anticipated this to be a grand success, in just 10 years
IPL is not anymore a tournament, it has become a yearly festival. The beauty of
IPL is that we can see players from different countries playing with each other
and team mates playing in different franchises. If you look at the geographical
aspect of IPL, you will be amazed to see that people are playing for franchises
which are not actually their home team and gradually that location has become
their second home. Only in IPL where you can see a
South Indian captaining a North Indian team and a North Indian who is leading an
East India based franchises. Lets look at this closely in the upcoming IPL 11.
· MS Dhoni, a boy from Jharkhand East India is not
only the captain of Chennai Super King, he is the heartbeat of the people of
Chennai
·
Dinesh Kartik from Chennai will be leading the
team of Bongs from Kolkatta.
·
Ravichandran Ashwin a south Indian will take
charge of the Punjabi den Kings XI Punjab.
· Virat Kohli, the present Indian captain hails
from Delhi and will as usual lead Royal Challengers Bangalore.
·
Ajinkya Rahane a boy from Mumbai will take
charge of the Royals from Rajasthan.
· Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir will be leading
their home franchises but in past they have played for different zones.
Apart from the captains you can
see many key players of Indian cricket team has played for a different team and
it has helped to increase their overall bonding for that particular area. You
can also see that in International cricket the amount of sledging has
decreased. Somewhere down the line I personally believe that the reason for the
same is Indian Premier League.
Indian Premier League Season 11
is just a few days away, let’s hope to enjoy this summer in grand style once
again.
