The Gates of India


Are you still confused with the two famous gates of India? Do you really think twice before identifying the locations of the gates popularly known as India Gate and Gateway of India? If yes, I am here to clarify your confusion and make it easy for you.



Brief Description:

India Gate: Located in the capital city Delhi, India Gate is a war memorial to 82,000 solider of India army who died in the world war between 1914-21. India Gate was originally called as the All India War Memorial. India Gate is just opposite to the Rastrapati Bhawan.

Gateway of India: Located in Mumbai the financial capital of India. Gateway of India is an arch monument built during the 20th century. This was raised to honor the landing of King George V and Queen Marry during their visit to India. Gateway of India is on the bank of the Arabian Sea.

The Confusion: Many of us still have the confusion about the location of both the gates, during my school days I used to find it very difficult to remember the locations and many times I went on to give an incorrect answer. Later I realized not only me, many people thinks twice before committing the blunder.

The Clarification: After visiting both the places closely, I came up with a conclusion and noted down a few observations that will differentiate both the places and it will make it easier to memories the places

·         Gateway of India is the gate way to enter India and India Gate is situated in the heart of the capital city of India.
·         India Gate is a war memorial and Gateway of India is an architecture to welcome King George V and his wife.
·         Gateway of India has a sea view, India Gate doesn’t.
·        Gateway of India is at the tip point of the city of Mumbai and India Gate is at the center location of Delhi.
·         India Gate is tall and Gate way of India is wide.
·         In terms of area India Gate is huge as compare to the Gateway of India.
